Nutritional Treatment - Eating Disorders Program

The initial aim of the nutritional treatment is to restore eating and body weight to levels that allow the body to function and resume normal growth and development. Sometimes nutritional supplement drinks may be appropriate in the short term to manage adequate nutrition.

Normal, independent, social eating and relaxed attitudes to food are amongst the long term goals of dietetic care.

The team dietitians work collaboratively with each client and their family to help build knowledge and skills in managing meals, increasing food intake and variety and correct distorted views about food, nutrition and dietary needs.
