The Children's Hospital Child Care Centre was established in the grounds of Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH) in 1986. The centre is an independant, not for profit organisation managed by a committee of parent, hospital and staff representatives. It is licenced for 47 children between the ages of 0-6 years.

The centre operates from 6.45am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays and is closed over the Christmas and New Year period.

Families may apply for child care benefit from the Family Assistance office by telephoning 136 150. A fee is charged for all care, the schedule includes a daily or hourly fee (for families with a child in hospital only).
Centre tours are conducted at 10.30am on the last Thursday of each month. Please make a booking for a tour by telephoning (08) 9340 8586.
Applications for that calendar year are accepted throughout the year, with a requirement to re-confirm your place on the waiting list every 3 months.
An enrolment week is held in the first week of November each year, when applications are accepted for the following year and those families remaining on the waiting list are required to re-enrol. It is not uncommon for families to wait for approx one year for a place in the centre.
